WHAT TO DO:

  • At the beginning of each month, check the coffee catch-up schedule to see who you are paired with this month. Direct message that person on Slack to set up your coffee date.

CHECK-IN GUIDELINES:

  • The check-in should last around 30 minutes; but can last longer if you feel called to connect longer.
  • Each person takes a turn to share while the other listens.
  • The person who is listening is there to hold space.  There is no requirement for the person to give feedback, advice, resolve an issue etc. but merely to allow the other to be heard.
  • If the sharer wishes to receive feedback, advice etc, they can ask for it.
  • Feel free to make it sociable by having a coffee together (or dance to your favourite song – be creative.)

 

WHAT TO SHARE:

The following are ideas of what to share.  Select the questions that resonate with both you and your partner.  You are also welcome to come up with your own ideas in agreement with your partner.

  • Start with a P.I.E.S. check-in: share how you are feeling Physically, Intellectually, Emotionally and Spiritually (one word for each dimension).
  • Share something that you are really passionate about right now.
  • Share something that is challenging you right now.
  • Share something that is inspiring you right now.
  • Share about your most recent act of kindness.
  • Share about how you recently stepped out of your comfort zone.
  • What was the last book your read?  How was it?
  • What’s on your music playlist right now?  Why do you love it?
  • What podcast is challenging your thinking right now; and how?
  • Share your personal intentions for the next month.

When both you and your partner have shared and you feel that the meeting has come to its natural end, thank each other for sharing.
